LSI Christchurch
Christchurch, ‘The Garden City’,
is an attractive city where you can study and learn while at the
same time experience a lifestyle that is both stimulating and
relaxing. It is the largest city in the South Island (population
344,100). Christchurch is an important tourist centre and has
fine shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, hotels and a casino. There
is also a wide range of attractions and recreational activities
to experience, and it is an excellent base from which to explore
the beautiful South Island!

- LSI staff are fully qualified and experienced to meet your needs.
- On having completed your course you will be presented with an LSI Certificate.
- LSI Christchurch is situated on the 2nd floor of a brick building,
above one of Christchurch's most famous dessert shops!
- The school is close to transport and within walking distance of most
tourist attractions in the city, including the Avon River and Victoria
Square and the famous Cathedral Square.
- There are many restaurants and cafes close by.
- The school is on or close to all the major bus routes including the
free City Shuttle bus route.
- LSI Christchurch opened in March 2003 and has an average of 35-45
students in three to four levels (beginners to advanced)
- The average age of the students is 23, with the minimum age being
16, and no maximum age!
- The nationality mix at LSI Christchurch is usually: 20% Japanese,
20% Korean, 20% South American + Middle Eastern, 20% Other Asian countries,

- We have an English only policy in the school, which helps students
with their English learning as well as allowing them to meet many new
friends!
- The school is small (the maximum number of students it will take is
60 and the maximum in any class is 14) and students receive personal
attention from the teachers, the homestay co-ordinator and the Head
Teacher.
- There is a relaxed, friendly, family atmosphere which is conducive
to excellent language learning.
